Description

These Delicious Cherry Pie Bites are a perfect bite-sized dessert combining all the classic flavors of cherry pie in an easy-to-make, portable form. Using crescent roll dough and cherry pie filling, these treats come together quickly and bake to golden perfection. Topped with a simple powdered sugar glaze, they’re ideal for sharing at parties, snack time, or whenever you want a sweet treat without the fuss of a whole pie.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Cherry Pie Bites

  • 1 can cherry pie filling (21 oz)
  • 2 tubes crescent roll dough (8 oz each)

For the Glaze

  • 1 cup confectioners’ sugar (sifted)
  • 1 to 2 tablespoons milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven and Prepare the Muffin Tin: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a standard muffin tin with nonstick cooking spray to prevent sticking and ensure easy removal of the cherry pie bites after baking.
  2. Arrange the Crescent Dough: Unroll the crescent roll dough and place each triangle piece into a muffin cup. Position the widest part of each triangle at the bottom of the cup to form a little nest for the filling.
  3. Add the Cherry Filling: Spoon about 3 to 4 heaping tablespoons of cherry pie filling into each dough-lined muffin cup. Allow some filling to slightly overflow if needed; this adds rustic charm and flavor.
  4. Fold and Bake the Dough: Gently fold the corners of the dough over the filling to enclose it as much as possible, helping to keep the filling contained. Bake in the preheated oven for 13-14 minutes until golden brown and cooked through.
  5. Prepare the Glaze: While the bites bake, whisk together sifted powdered sugar and 1 to 2 tablespoons of milk in a small bowl until smooth. Adjust milk amount to achieve your desired glaze consistency.
  6. Glaze and Serve: Once baked, remove the cherry pie bites from the oven and let cool slightly. Drizzle the glaze over the warm bites, then serve immediately and enjoy the delightful combination of flaky pastry and sweet cherry filling.

Notes

  • Do not overfill each dough cup; using more than 3-4 tablespoons may cause filling to leak and create a mess.
  • Ensure edges of the dough are well sealed by pinching and gently rolling to prevent leakage during baking.
  • If you prefer, substitute crescent roll dough with puff pastry or pie crust for a different texture.
  • Use your favorite canned or homemade cherry pie filling; ensure filling is thick enough to hold shape.
  • Glaze can be made with milk, cream, or non-dairy alternatives; skip glaze or dust with powdered sugar for a lighter finish.
  • Let the bites cool at least 10 minutes before glazing to prevent glaze from melting off.
  • Store baked bites in airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days or refrigerated for up to 4 days.
  • Reheat in microwave for 10-15 seconds or oven at 300°F for 5 minutes before serving.
