Ingredients
Scale
Roll Ups
- 1 lb thinly sliced roast beef
- 1.5 cups shredded mozzarella or provolone cheese
- 4 large flour tortillas
- 2 tablespoons melted butter
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon dried parsley
Au Jus Sauce
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- Salt & pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking and facilitate easy cleanup.
- Assemble Roll Ups: Lay the flour tortillas flat on a clean surface. Evenly distribute the thinly sliced roast beef and shredded cheese over each tortilla, ensuring uniform layers for balanced flavor.
- Roll Tortillas: Roll each tortilla tightly from the bottom up, folding in the sides as you go to keep the filling secure and prevent spilling during baking.
- Prepare Roll Ups for Baking: Brush the outside of each rolled tortilla generously with melted butter. Sprinkle garlic powder, onion powder, and dried parsley evenly over the surfaces for added flavor and a beautiful golden color after baking.
- Bake: Place the rolled tortillas on the prepared baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for 12–15 minutes until they are golden brown and the cheese inside is melted and bubbly.
- Make Au Jus: While the roll ups bake, combine beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper in a saucepan. Simmer over medium heat for 5–7 minutes to develop a rich and savory dipping sauce.
- Slice and Serve: Remove the roll ups from the oven and let cool slightly. Slice into bite-sized pieces and serve warm alongside the au jus for dipping.
Notes
- Choose thinly sliced roast beef for easy rolling and tender bites.
- Use mozzarella or provolone cheese for a mild, melty texture.
- For a gluten-free version, substitute flour tortillas with gluten-free tortillas.
- The au jus sauce can be made ahead and reheated just before serving.
- Adjust seasoning in the au jus according to taste, adding more Worcestershire or soy sauce for deeper umami.
