  • Author: Naomi
  • Total Time: 30 minutes
  • Yield: 12 sliders 1x

Description

These Ham and Havarti Cheese Sliders are a delicious and easy-to-make appetizer perfect for gatherings or a tasty snack. Featuring savory Black Forest ham and creamy Havarti cheese sandwiched between buttery Hawaiian rolls, topped with a flavorful poppy seed butter glaze, and baked to golden perfection, they offer a delightful combination of flavors and textures.

Ingredients

Scale

Sliders

  • 1 package Savory Butter Hawaiian Rolls (12 count)
  • 12 slices Black Forest ham
  • 6 slices Havarti cheese

Buttery Topping

  • 4 tbsp salted butter
  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard
  • 1/4 tsp Worcestershire sauce (optional)
  • 1/4 tsp onion powder (optional)
  • 1 tbsp poppy seeds

Instructions

  1. Prepare rolls and baking dish: Slice the entire block of Hawaiian rolls in half horizontally without separating the individual rolls. Remove the top half and set it aside. Lightly grease a 9×12 inch baking pan with butter and place the bottom half of the rolls inside the pan.
  2. Add ham and cheese layers: Layer each individual roll with one slice of Black Forest ham and half a slice of Havarti cheese, evenly distributing them to cover all rolls.
  3. Prepare and add buttery topping: In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the butter by heating it for about 30 seconds. Stir in Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, onion powder, and poppy seeds to create a flavorful glaze. Place the top half of the rolls on the layered bottom half, then brush the entire surface generously with the butter-poppy seed mixture.
  4. Bake the sliders: Loosely cover the baking pan with aluminum foil and bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for approximately 15 minutes. Then, remove the foil and bake uncovered for an additional 5 minutes or until the Havarti cheese melts and the tops of the buns turn golden brown.

Notes

  • You can substitute Havarti cheese with your preferred melting cheese such as Swiss or mozzarella.
  • For a spicier flavor, add a pinch of cayenne pepper to the buttery topping.
  • Serve these sliders warm for the best taste and texture.
  • Leftovers can be stored covered in the refrigerator for up to 3 days and reheated gently before serving.
