  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 (16 oz) block sharp cheddar cheese, shredded

Instructions

  1. Step 1: Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F. Line a rimmed baking sheet with a silicone baking mat, place a wire oven-safe cooling rack on top, and spray it generously with cooking spray. Set aside.
  2. Step 2: In a large bowl, combine the sausage, Bisquick mix, sugar, pepper, garlic powder, and Worcestershire sauce. Mix well until evenly blended.
  3. Step 3: Add the shredded cheddar cheese to the mixture and incorporate it thoroughly.
  4. Step 4: Using a small cookie scoop, portion the mixture into about 32 small scoops. Roll each scoop into a ball with your hands and place them on the prepared cooling rack.
  5. Step 5: Bake in the preheated oven for 15 to 25 minutes, or until the sausage balls are golden brown and cooked through.
  6. Step 6: Serve warm with honey mustard, sour cream, or your favorite dipping sauce.

Tips & Variations

  • For a milder flavor, use mild or sweet breakfast sausage instead of hot.
  • Substitute shredded mozzarella or pepper jack cheese for a different twist.
  • Add chopped green onions or a pinch of smoked paprika for extra flavor.
  • If you don’t have a wire rack, you can bake the balls directly on the silicone mat, but the rack helps make them crispier.

Storage

Store sausage balls in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3-4 days. For longer storage, freeze them for up to 4 months. To reheat, bake in the oven or microwave until heated through; thaw first if frozen.

How to Serve
